Roch is the international certification body for dog friendly hospitality. We publish the standard, define the terms, test hotels against it and certify those that meet it. Operating across 46 countries, we have assessed more than 2,000 hotels and built an independent framework that holds properties accountable for what "dog friendly" means in practice.
What We Do
Roch Dog defines what "dog friendly" means, tests hotels against the standard, and certifies those that meet it. Using the Roch Dog Friendly Standard (RDFS-02), hotels are assessed across 45 weighted criteria. Only those meeting all minimum requirements are certified and graded, giving dog owners a consistent, comparable way to choose where to stay.
What We Build
The Dog Friendly Standard (RDFS-02), published in 11 languages. A public directory of rated and certified hotels. An assessment platform where hotels apply for certification. Published research drawn from the largest independent dataset on dog friendly hospitality.
What We Do Not Do
We do not sell listings, advertising or placement.
We do not operate pay-to-play rankings or assessments.
We do not allow money to influence a grade, rating or outcome.
We only certify hotels and short-term accommodation providers.
The Roch Society
The Roch Society is our non-profit arm, dedicated to making the world a friendlier, more inclusive place for dogs and strengthening the bond between humans and dogs through research, education and advocacy. We conduct and share research, develop best practices, and work to inform planners, policymakers and authorities.
